Addiction Treatment for Nevada Firefighters, Police, EMTs & Paramedics
Your benefits or EAP may help cover treatment. We verify confidentially and for free — your employer and union are never notified.
First responders see more trauma in a year than most people see in a lifetime. The calls do not leave when the shift ends — and in a culture built on being the strong one, alcohol often becomes the only "acceptable" way to cope.
Research reviewed by SAMHSA and other federal agencies shows elevated rates of PTSD, depression, and problem drinking among firefighters, police officers, and EMS professionals. Getting treatment is not the end of a public safety career — untreated addiction usually is. Our program treats the trauma and the substance use together, confidentially.
What Makes Your Work Different
Trauma is the driver
For most first responders, substance use is self-medication for accumulated trauma. Our dual diagnosis program includes EMDR and trauma-focused therapy, because treating only the drinking treats only the symptom.
The strong-one culture
Departments run on trust, and admitting you are struggling can feel like letting the crew down. Treatment here is private — your department is not notified, and you decide who knows.
Career and clearance concerns
Voluntary treatment is viewed very differently from an on-duty incident, a DUI, or a fitness-for-duty referral. Getting ahead of the problem is the best protection for your career.
Your Questions, Answered Straight
Will my department find out if I go to treatment?
Not from us. Federal confidentiality law — with extra protections specific to substance use treatment — prevents disclosure without your written consent. Insurance claims process like any other medical care.
Do you actually treat trauma, or just the substance use?
Both, together. Our dual diagnosis program includes trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR alongside addiction treatment, because for most first responders the trauma is what drives the use.
Can I use FMLA or my benefits to protect my job?
In many cases, yes. FMLA provides job-protected leave for treatment at covered employers, and public safety contracts often include additional leave and health protections. We help you sort this out confidentially before you commit to anything.
What if a peer support team or union rep referred me?
We work respectfully with peer support and member assistance programs when you want us to — and keep them completely out of it when you do not. You control every disclosure.
