Health information is subject to applicable privacy laws, including HIPAA and, where applicable, 42 CFR Part 2. These laws have permitted disclosures and exceptions. Ask for the privacy notice and discuss your communication preferences with admissions.
Treatment length is highly individualized. Medical detox typically lasts 5-10 days. Our residential inpatient programs generally range from 30 to 90 days. Research shows that longer stays in treatment significantly improve the chances of long-term recovery.
Pack comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, athletic wear, swimwear (for the pool), toiletries (alcohol-free), and any prescribed medications in their original bottles. We will provide a comprehensive packing list during the admissions process.
We strongly encourage family involvement. However, during the initial detox phase, we restrict contact to allow you to focus entirely on stabilization. Once stabilized, we have designated visiting hours and integrate family therapy into your treatment plan.
Dual diagnosis means treating an addiction alongside a co-occurring mental health condition, such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. We treat both simultaneously, as leaving the mental health condition untreated often leads to relapse.
Medical detox is a core program at BetterChoice. Assessment determines whether this setting is suitable and what monitoring or medication may be appropriate. Ask about current staffing and available care. Withdrawal can be dangerous; seek emergency care for severe symptoms.

During the first days of detox we limit devices so you can focus on stabilizing. After that, most patients earn scheduled phone and device time. Executives who must stay in touch with work can discuss extended access with the clinical team.
Privacy laws limit disclosures but have exceptions. Eligible employees of covered employers may qualify for FMLA leave; eligibility, certification and employer procedures matter. Medical certification may be required. Ask your benefits administrator about leave and discuss privacy preferences with the treatment team.
Yes. BetterChoice is one of the few Las Vegas facilities that accepts couples. Partners can detox and attend rehab at the same time, with both joint and individual therapy. Learn more on our couples rehab page.
Detox stabilizes the body but does not treat the addiction itself. Most patients step into our residential inpatient program, where therapy, group work, and relapse prevention planning happen. Before discharge, we build an aftercare plan: outpatient therapy, sober living if needed, and alumni support.
Ask admissions and your insurer to confirm whether your specific Medicare, Medicaid, commercial or TRICARE plan can be used at BetterChoice. Program participation, provider authorization and network status must be checked. If coverage is unavailable, discuss other providers or current self-pay arrangements.
People from other states can contact admissions about treatment at our Las Vegas location. Confirm clinical suitability and a place in treatment before booking travel. Ask about current transport options and costs; airport pickup is not guaranteed. Travel may not be appropriate during withdrawal.
